The current implementation allows different spellings for concert mode /transposing mode, even for non transposing instruments. Is this a bug or a feature?

It's a feature to me for transposing instruments, a bug for non-transposing ones :-).

Actually, I think even for transposing instruments, most of the time people would want "J" to affect both. I would love it to be *possible* to get different spellings (relatively speaking) for concert pitch versus transposed, but it should probably take deliberate effort. Eslewhere I proposed telling people to use Up/Down to get a "full" respelling, "J" to affect only the current view, but now I'm not so sure. Some spellings are impossible to get using Up & Down (eg, G# in the key of Eb).

Is it possible to have "J" do a full respelling, but Shift+J do just the current view (and associated linked parts)? I realize that for tablature Shift+J does something a bit different, but for standard notation staves they seem to be synonyms.
