Single-note Dynamics Occasionally Don't Work
MuseScore's single-note dynamics support is amazing on a playback standpoint and I can never go back...except sometimes it doesn't work? I attached a sample score with three lines: first as written but somehow no single-note dynamic change, second and third with modifications in attempt for a dynamic change. Perhaps MuseScore doesn't support a cresc. and decresc. over a single note (why?) but if it should, then something is buggy here. I've seen this happen on occasion with other soundfonts that support single-dynamic playback. Usually I could "fix" the issue by hiding a dim. or cresc. line or by reformatting the notation. Does anyone have any input on this issue?

There seem to be some odd things about how you set that score up, the Mixer is showing regular regular "expr" trumpet sound, and grand piano for the muted sound. So I guess maybe it is optimized for some other soundfont?

I do have Aegean's soundfont installed but I used the default harmon mute expr. for the muted channel. I've noticed this across both default and third-party soundfonts.
Here's the file with all default sounds, assuming the mixer settings transfer over. I can't get the third line to work consistently which is odd.

Single note dynamics don't work with Soundfonts that are non-GM and not prepared for single note dynamics.

ASO is GM compatible and single dynamics playback works almost all of the time. But sometimes there appears to be hiccups if you have a specific rhythm or notation, like what I put in the file which uses the default expressive harmon mute trumpet sound font.

Except it doesn't, not for me, anyhow. I think it does only if one has the same soundfonts loaded that you do.

Does it work if you put in the default expressive harmon mute trumpet soundfont in the Mixer? The Staff Properties should already have the voice assigned to muted. I'm assuming all applicable MuseScore default sound fonts are capable in producing single dynamic sound fonts.

No, something else seems wrong. But ti worked in a score I created from scratch. So somehow it seems connected to whatever you did setting this up. Unfortunately that's not really my area of specialty.
