optimum range for bpm
I'm wondering what the optimum range is for beats per minute when I write a score. For example, I have a section of a piece that's in 55 quarter note bpm, and it has a lot of 16th notes in it. Would it be better to change the 16th notes to 8th notes and change the tempo to 110?

Try tapping your foot. If it feels comfortable, that is the speed.
