How come syllables are at different heights ?? How can I fix this ?

In order to do more than guess, we'd need you to attach the actual score, not just a picture of. But, I can make a pretty good guess: you have set the "Vertical align range" to "measure" in Format / Style / Score. In which case, reset it to its default, "System" to get the normal behavior back.

FWIW, I downloaded that score and opened it in 3.5, I didn't see the problem there.
