Assignment of Parts is not proper working in MS 3.4.1.
Hi
After the release of MuseScore 3.0, I tried the new features of the parts definition.
My idea was to create one Staff in the score with two voice 1 and 2 (i.e SoA) in order to get on a simple way a compact directors view as a part. At the other hand I expected to create also two parts for Sopran (SoA) und Alt (SoA) which are linked to SoA. My further expectation was, that I can make changes in the two voices of SoA which results also in changes in Sopran (SoA) and Alt (SoA) and vice versa.
For this I create Parts Sopran (SoA) with voice 1 only and Alt (SoA) with voice 2 from Staff SoA.
If there are already notes existing in SoA, they are correct distributed to Sopran (SoA) and Alt (SoA) , but if I add notes they appear in both parts.
A check of the parts definition showed, that both parts, Sopran (SoA) and Alt (SoA), are assigned to voice 1 of SoA... So something went definitly wrong.
Unfortunatly there is no possibility to change or correct this assignment. I can only delete the part, create a new one... and the game starts again...
I would be very greatful, if this feature would work in the next release...
A possiblility to change the assigment of a part and its name would also be nice...
Please find attached the example file test.mscz.

Yes, the parts of only voices leave quite a bit room for improvement, see #296009: [EPIC] Issues with linked parts of individual voices for a collection of issues, I giess here it is #283964: Linked parts for single voices don't work which is biting you.
Changing partnames is possible, the changed names though show only after save, close and reopen, known issue, see #282670: rename parts -> missing GUI refresh in tabbar

Is there any schedule available for a fix?

No
I can confirm this issue is related to #283964: Linked parts for single voices don't work and there is a PR created for this issue. With a little luck it might be solved in the coming 3.5 release. I tested your example and it is solved in my test version.

That sounds promissing...

Hi, I checked the latest Version 3.5.0.13199 and found still issues...
To explain this I created "Test 1.mscz"
It has one blank staff and I created 4 parts VC 1 to VC 4, each related to one voice of the staff.
This is what I did after loading of "Test 1.mscz":
View Main staff we found a break for voice 1 and voice 2 (I didn't like that, so...)
Now we have only one break related to voice 1 per bar
We find
1. a different number of bars (really?)
2. a different bar line at the end
3. no bar is selectable
Part VC 1 seems to be ok
I can add notes in the main staff/voice 2, but there is no way to do any edits in the other bars of part VC 2!
The same effect can be reproduced with VC 3 an VC 4.

I guess, things become more clear...
In "Amtsgerichts-Polka.mscz" is a part "Tenorhorn 3" which is corrupted in the same way as in example "Test 1.mscz".
In bar 5 of the main staff "Amtsgerichts-Polka" I add an open repeat (|:) in staff Sopran (Solo)-> MS crashes!!
Sometimes, if i try to past several bars in such a kind of currupted staff MS chrashes also...
Now I delete part "Tenorhorn 3" -> No Problem to add the open repeat as I trid before...
I think there might be several other activities which can be done with such a corrupted staff and may lead to a complete crash!
For me, this is a really severe issue, which I won't expect in a release version!!
There might be issues in concept, coding and testing of all related software parts.

On a corrupt score anything can happen, any time, in any release.
And, more important, it doesn't seem to be a 3.5 regression, as this thread is about 3.4.1.

I agree, but this corrupt score was created from scratch with 3.5, followed by the mentioned actions. So it is an issue which is at least related to 3.5!

Then it is in the wrong thread?

Shall we discuss, if it has been placed in the right place or do we have an issue??
I guess we have!
