Size of the Staves
I was wondering if anybody knows how to make staves (when there are multiple parts) smaller so more can fit on the page or how to add a page below for the lower staves?

You can't split systems across pages (your second option) so you must reduce the size of the staves or in the case of MuseScore, the entire score. Do this by selecting Format->Page Settings... and reduce the Scaling value. You have a preview so you can see how the numbers affect the page layout.
