Chord 'play' or not?
How can I get the chord 'play' to turn off for a whole section rather than just a specific chord or bar? If I am correct the only way to get the chord play function to be on or off is in the 'inspector' and you have to click on a specific chord. The only options that I see will last only as long as a bar and I want this feature to turn off for a section of, say 8 bars, and then to be on during a soloing section. I don't see a way to do this. Am I missing something?
Thanks

If you want to deactivate the playback only for several chord symbols in a range, then select the corresponding measures, right click on a chord symbol select->select all similar elements in range selection an untick play in the inspector.

Starting with 3.5 you should be able to also:
1. Click first chord
2. Hold Shift and click 2nd chord
to select all chord symbols in between them as well

This works for most articulations and ornaments not just chord type symbols

So should get added to the https://musescore.org/en/handbook/selection-modes handbook page in some form I guess
Works for chord symbols, lyrics, system text, staff text, tuplet numbers/brackets, some articulations, dynamics, tempo texts. I wonder whether there is (and where to fine) a complete list?

I don't know where to find the complete list, but it also works on accidentals.

There isn't a list. I believe Marc implemented it to work between all elements of the same type if otherwise nothing would've happened previously.

Correct. The list is, whatever "select similar in range" works for, because I literally create a range selection and then call selectSimilarInRange. After the results come in I also filter on voice, because that felt right. For lyrics, probably we should also filter on voice.
