MuseScore will download, but will not install.
Hello, I'm a college student enrolled in courses for a major in music education. For my music theory, my professor has asked the class to use MuseScore for assignments. I have repeatedly downloaded and redownloaded MuseScore countless times, all for a prompt to come up every time and say it cannot be installed. The prompt gives me the choice to either cancel or retry; the retry does absolutely nothing and the same window prompt comes up.
My professor and I both are beginning to get frustrated and annoyed, and I don't want to be the ONLY student in his course that needs to use a different program.
I have a Surface Pro purchased new, late 2019. I don't know what generation it is, but I've had no problems with it.

What's exactly the error message, could you attache a screen shot?

I'm guessing something else is running that is interfering. Try rebooting, and doing the install as soon as possible after the computer comes back (give it a minute to finish doing what it needs to do).
If that fails, another option is to use the portable version, which can be run without an actual install. See https://musescore.org/en/download/musescore-portable.exe
