Attempting to "insert one measure" at one particular measure crashes MuseScore every time
I uploaded the score. Attempting to "insert one measure" at measure 13 crashes MuseScore every time. No dialog box or alert. It just quits. There's nothing very special about measure 13. The next measure contains a key signature change. Attempting to "insert one measure" at measure 12 or 14 works okay. It seems to happen with Tenor, Soprano and other voice parts in this score. Also the piano part.
I tried "insert measures..." at the same place. Same thing happens. The score otherwise behaves normally.
I saved the crash log if anyone wants it, but didn't upload it.
OS: macOS 10.15, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.5.0.28537, revision: 43c5553
Let me know if you have any questions, or if you want me to do further troubleshooting.

Are you entering the measure in the middle of a tie? Are there parts generated in the score?

Your concern is appreciated.
>Are you entering the measure in the middle of a tie?
Yes. I tried removing the ties. Problem not resolved. I tried removing the ties, saved the score. Closed the score, reopened it. Problem not resolved.
Is there a rule against adding a measure in the middle of a tie? (I can see how that might be problematic.)
>Are there parts generated in the score?
Don't understand the question.

There are a couple of words of staff text above that measure, but I removed them, and that didn't resolve the problem, either.
Do you have a tool that checks for corrupt scores?

Hey! I think I isolated the problem I removed all the stuff in that measure that MuseScore might choke on. A diminuendo in the piano part, a bit of staff text, the ties, and the lyrics for the vocal parts. Then I could "insert one measure" without a crash. I'm pretty sure the lyrics are the source of the problem.
Edit: Experimented more. The lyrics are the source of the problem.

If it's possible to attach the version that crashes it would be useful in discovering the root cause of the crash.

There is/was a bug that led to a crash if you tried to insert a measure in the middle of a tie. There are also elusive bugs related to parts being generated (using File->Parts to create parts, you will see tabs for each instrument). If you have parts you might be able to remove the parts, add the measure and then generate parts again. A better way to deal with parts is to not generate them until the score is mostly done - that is the measures and repeats are established. You can still edit notes and other things you put into measures without problems.

I edited a previous message. The lyrics are the source of the problem. I left the tie in, but removed the lyrics. I could then "insert one measure." I uploaded the score with my original message on this thread. Well... I think I did. Did you receive it?

No score is attached

Okay, I'll try again.
I think it's attached now.
Wishing to be a worthy user of this admirable application. I worked further at isolating the problem.
It's the lyric "Schatz,__" which starts in measure twelve and extends into measure 13. To make the crash stop happening when I try to "insert one measure," I have to eliminate that lyric from all four vocal lines. That's as far as I got. It's getting late and I'm getting punchy.
It's possible an illegal character got typed into one of those lyrics. Just a theory...

Known issue, fixed in the lastest 3.5.1: #311289: Inserting a new measure within a melisma causes a crash
You just need to update.
