Positioning of Instrument name: Organ
I am creating a score for an ensemble which includes organ. In some systems it is notated on two (manual) staves, in others a pedal stave is added (and in some it's absent altogether). In the two-stave parts, the instrument name is positioned correctly, at the center of the curly bracket--but in the three stave parts, it's moved down (central to all three staves); inthese instances, how can I move it back up to the curly bracket?
It occurs to me that one work-around would be to create a separate instrument part for the pedal line, and leave it unlabled, but I was wondering if there was a more direct way.
thanks--

Central to all the instrument's staves is the correct place
If you really want the label centered on the brace then you will need to add an instrument as you said.

Thanks, that worked. I undetrstand why MS places the label where it does, but it underscores one of MS's many issues in handling organ parts

You can have a 2-staff and a 3-staff organ.
Please show examples of scores with a 3-staff organ that doesn't have it centered, from reasonably well known publishers.
I don't see anything to that effect in Elain Gould's "Behind Bars"

No instrument names there, and the middle example plain wrong as per Elaine Gould (the brace should only cover the top staves, seems even "Breitkopf und Härtel" make mistakes)
The later reply with 2-stave Organ.

The one for the brackets, then #311655: Add Piano or Organ the instrument name problem recurs from time to time, seems to me.

#311655: Add Piano or Organ is a duplicate of #290696: Barlines not spanning stave in added piano stave , different issue, the Organ being centered had been explained there and wasn't the (main?) issue

c.f. Gould pg. 509.
I looked at a couple of scores of large orchestral works that have organ parts--Strauss, Mahler, Holst--but they were either on two staves only, or used odd (and I'm thinking outdated) formats.

Ah, I see. Didn't find those searching the PDF for "organ"
