Change Beam Appearance
I have this:
And I want this (referring to the beams of the uppermost voice):
By the way, if the solution is to check Beam Properties palette, then it means that it doesn't work in the Linux 3.x Nightly (10/20).

The solution indeed is to use the Beam palette
What doesn't work there on Linux?
(and here too, score needed :-))

You get the same reaction? Wait let me remake it.

Without a score I can't even try ;-)
But the Beams palette certainly works for me, in General (and on Windows)

Both, the Beam and moving the articulation to above, works for me

do you use the same nightly? Also I have never used Beam properties' items before so maybe I don't know how to use them... I simply drag them right?
PS. I tried to modify your score but returning the beams to as they were before doesn't work either. And I tried moving from "Above" to "Below" the accent and had same results.

I'm using the latest selfbuilt.
You select the note and click the beam property in the palette (drag works too, but is not recommended anymore and since quite a while)

Woah, those work... It seems like I was selecting the wrong property: I was selecting start beam :/
And x works, but why doesn't it work when using inspector?

Both work for me, X as well as Inspector, "Above staff" or "Above chord"

Weird... I'll try in a newer nightly if the system has been fixed.

If you have something in the inspector selected, pressing x will normally do nothing. You need to make sure that after you're done with the inspector you press esc so focus is back on the item you are adjusting, x will then flip it.

Uh... What actually did not work was the inspector xD

In the latest development build the inspector changes the articulation up and down as in my gif located at #310125: Articulations misplace in cross-staff notation. It's not right because of the cross-staff notes, but it does work.

I don't know... for me it seems to change direction but not position.

It sounds like you're changing the direction rather than the anchor. Directions is relevant to things like bowings but doesn't really affect an accent.

Check the Inspector when you press "X" and you'll see what actually is happening - it changes the anchor from below to above. So that's how you'd made the same change in the Inspector.

Oh, so I must have been looking at the wrong option... Oh well, thanks for the help.

For the record - there are always several ways to apply something:
1) (usually the fast way) - select the element(s) or range in the score you want to apply it to, then click the palette element
2) (usually the "scenic" route) - drag the palette element direct to the specific score element (only works for single elements), carefully waiting until you have the mouse cursor precisely lined up over the element in question
3) same as 1 but instead of clicking the palette element, you navigate to it by keyboard then press Enter (useful if you are access the palette itself by keyboard)
What about this one? I've tried many combinations but failed. Maybe it's not supposed to be like that? Bad Boosey&Hawkes! Or not?

True... I thought that musescore wouldn't have this type of beaming, changing "beaming" on rests XD.
Breath, musescore amazes me, I didn't expect a manual page for "applying beam properties on rests too"
