accounts merge

• Nov 10, 2020 - 15:20

My bandmate and I just merged accounts so I can add lyrics to his scores but I cannot seem to make any changes to them. Can you please tell us how we can both access the composing/editing controls for our songs?

Thank you,

You have to do it in the desktop program. Download the score, edit it, then save on line and MuseScore will replace the online score.

I am working in the desktop program. When I download the score my laptop cannot open it. I tried to download a musescore app but looks like it's unavailable for mac. Is musescore only compatible with PC's? I don't seem to have any musescore controls when I'm on this website, and app is unavailable in apple app store.

MuseScore works on Windows, Mac and Linux. Unless you have a very old Mac it works fine. You need to make sure you download the Mac version. The files are 100% the same so it doesn't matter which computer the file was created on. If you have the desktop program its the same program as on a laptop.

I downloaded it through your link, thank you. I've tried every suggestion posted here to open a saved score in the musescore app and nothing worked so now I'm back at square one. When I try to download a score from the website into the app it just disappears. I tried to open as a musescore file and as a PDF file. Nothing worked. When I tried pasting the URL into "source" under "score properties", it does not open the score in the app. Any other suggestions?

The way to open a file in MuseScore is the same as with almost any other computer: click the File menu, then Open, then browse to your file. Or use the shortcut Cmd+O. Or click the file icon on the main toolbar. Score properties has nothing to do with opening a file, not sure how that entered the conversation.

Note there is no such thing as downloading a score from the website into the app. Downlaoded files never go into apps, they go into folders on your computer. Then you can possibly open the file using an app. This isn't unique to the musescore.com website or the MuseScore app or macOS, it's standard for all websites and all apps on all computers.

I see now where you Score Properties from, that was something you do after you open the file normally, it's how you will tell MuseScore the URL of the page where the score lives on musescore.com. But again, first you need to open he file normally, by first downloading the file to a folder on your computer and then using File / Open to open that file from that folder.

Since I don't know who your bandmate is, follow this example.

I went to:
https://musescore.com/user/36346883/i-ve-got-a-feelin-chord-chart
and downloaded your file:
Ive_got_a_feelin_chord_chart.mscz
which can be opened in the free Musescore notation editor software which is available here:
https://musescore.org/en
into which the file can be opened and lyrics added:
