Can't Access Musescore Files
I downloaded musescore.com in 2014. I have composed and stored dozens of songs in musescore since that time. All of a sudden, three days ago, I am no longer able to access my files. I'm still using 3.1 because the learning curve was so steep when I first learned that that I haven't wanted to learn a new iteration of musescore.com. How can I access my files? Do I need to upload the newest version of musescore?

downloaded musescore.com? MuseScore software installed saves the scores in the pc.
You mean you only ever saved them online?
Sorry, I guess I didn't understand. But maybe you can refer to the app, in case ask on .com https://musescore.org/en/faq#faq-20657
(The score you attached was generated with 1.3)

No, I've printed most of them. However, I leave them online in case I want to tweak them. I went to a file a few days ago to tweak it, as I'm going to be performing it for a Christmas program, only to be told repeatedly, "Session quit unexpectedly. Do you want to restore it?" Countless times, I clicked both "Yes, restore" and No, don't restore", but I was never able to access the file. This has never happened before. I now appear to be locked out of musescore.com files. I am able to access the PDF and flac audio files, but not the musescore files. I save all three--musescore file, PDF, and flac audio file--every time I make any changes.
Why am I unable to access my musescore files? Any ideas?

No idea why your MuseScore would now crash all of a sudden, are you sure it still is your old MuseScore 1.3?
Try reverting it to factory settings, see https://musescore.org/en/node/2575
If for some reason you updated to MuseScore 3.x recently, you might have fallen fould of a bug, see https://musescore.org/en/faq#faq-312352
But that would have left your old 1.3 in place, see https://musescore.org/en/faq#faq-307102
As far as I can tell you don't have any public scores on musescore.com, I don't see any at https://musescore.com/user/1975301
So if you have scores there, then only private ones

Yes, I am unable to open my files I created in 1.3. I have never downloaded any iteration of musescore besides 1.3. I will try your suggestion of reverting to factory settings. Thanks for the suggestion.
Kathy
You surely never ever downloaded musescore.com, that is a website... (and you're a member there only since 2015, MuseScore 2.0 got released in March 2015)
stored in musescore
What does that mean, the MuseScore program on your PC, or on musescore.com, the score sharing website?
That score is from MuseScore 1.3, not 3.1.
MuseScore 1.x can't use save online anymore, and since quite long, a couple years meanwhile, but you can upload and update them directly on musescore.com, as far as I know.
You can still use MuseScore 1.3, I do still use it to at times, but you won't be able to use it to read in any scores created with MuseScore 2.x or 3.x.

I have stored my musescore files on musescore on my PC.

I have never stored anything on the sharing website, musescore.com.

OK, so no problem then, your scores are still all on your PC and accessible.
Go and do that factory reset

Okay, just did the factory reset. I can now access the files, but I cannot in any way manipulate them. If I try to play a song or change the music in any way, the music just disappears. Any other ideas?

Sounds like your file contains an error that is triggering a crash in your old version of MuseScore. There have been tens of thousands of bug fixes since then. So the most sensible thing to do would be to update. In addition to the tens of thousands of fixed bugs, there are lots of great new features, but the basics haven't changed at all. The few difference you'll get used to quickly, and feel free to ask here if you need help.

Marc, thank you for your suggestion. If I update, will my files from 1.3 automatically transfer over to the most recent update?

Well, there is nothing to "transfer" - files are files. Point MuseScore at the same folder and it will see the same files. But you might want to copy them from the folder where they are now to the folder the current version defaults to (Documents/MuseScore3/Scores). That's kind of up to you and how you like to organize your files.
But in any case, the current version can certainly open the older files. The reverse is not true.

Okay, thanks, Marc. I’ll try it and let you know how it goes. Thanks so much for your help!
