Mchip MacBooks ,any problems ?
I was just on a forum where somebody mentioned that the latest Apple OS requires a little bit of monkeying around to get it to install but that it works. When I logged in I was immediately sent here to ask a question so that’s what I’ll do… Any issue with the new M chip MacBooks and MuseScore?

Just asking… Maybe no one has bought the M
chip MacBook to try it out? My question was would it even matter? It’s just a chip so it will have no effect then on the software it runs.?

It does matter though, as far as I've heard: parts of Qt (a library MuseScore uses) doesn't support the new CPU yet, esp. WebEngine, used for the online part of the startcenter. So that part won't work for Big Sur on the new ARM CPU
Furthermore it crashes, that one will be fixed with 3.6 though, see 71b17f9

Sounds like I should hold off on purchase. Wait and see what happens. I’m sure some user will post if it doesn’t work?
