No sound and playback after upgrade
Hi,
I use Debian Testing. Musescore2 used to work perfectly but, after a system upgrade, I get no sound and no playback either.
I have tried several fixes, made sure ALSA is selected, and that MuseScore_General.sf3 is selected as default under Synthesizer.
I even removed and reinstalled Musescore2 completely, but to no effect.
Any suggestions as to troubleshoot the problem?

Are you using the official AppImage from this site, or a build provided by a third party? The latter are known to often have issues. If you continue to have trouble with the AppImage, see https://musescore.org/en/node/96811 for some other things to try.

Hi Marc,
I'm using the Debian package version 2.3.2+dfsg3-11. I have already tried the steps described in the link, but they did not work. I'll try the AppImage, although I'd rather have MuseScore installed as a package.

I downloaded the AppImage but it doesn't work. I made it executable and tried to run it from the terminal and got the 'command not found' error.

Forgot the "./" in front of the command?

Hi,
I downloaded the AppImage again and was able to start is successfully, set ALSa and the other fixes as above and still have no sound and no playback. My guess is that the upgrade must have messed some system configuration that affects MuseScore, though I have sound on the other applications and music players.
