I'm back again about a handbell soundfont

• Jan 23, 2021 - 01:22

Only this time I have some actual samples I recorded! But now I'm running into some trouble with Polyphone. The raw audio samples I load in sound great, but as I progress through the soundfont editor they sound terrible, specifically between the Sample and Instrument tables, even though I haven't altered the sound in any way.

I've included the sf2 file in an archive below. Am I in way over my head? Is this type of thing beyond the scope of this forum? Right now I'm just going for a "proof of concept", which I why I only recorded a handful of samples.

I have a lot of respect for what you are trying to do.

I was unable to extract your zip file. But I was able to open the zip folder and copy the font to my font folder and experiment with it. You are right, it doesn't have that nice .... I don't know.... round handbell sound. I have limited experience with Polyphone. I wonder if sf3 might be better. The people over in the sound font forum or even at Polyform, might be able to help more.

Keep at it.
