Load Error: Critically corrupted file cannot be processed
After MuseScore crashed during editing, trying to open the file outputs the Load Error notification:
File "C:/Users/username/Documents/MuseScore3/Scores/filename.mscz" is critically corrupted and cannot be processed.
Details provided are:
MSCX error at line 2219: invalid measure length: -6/8
Whenever I encountered the same issue previously, this fix worked:
https://musescore.org/en/node/54721
Unfortunately, this time around the score doesn't open at all so it can't be applied.
So the repair assistant plugin doesn't work either:
https://musescore.org/en/project/repair-assistant
I tried an autosave recovery but could only restore the version from the beginning of the session
https://musescore.org/en/node/52116
Not trying to politicize, but is there any hope to somehow undo the corruption or is the only way to start from scratch again?
I had hoped someone would know a way to edit out the critical bar lines without having to open the file in MuseScore - maybe in a text editor?
Many thanks for taking the time! I would be thrilled if you know a workaround :D
Cheers, Jan

Very similar problem came up just an hours ago, see https://musescore.org/en/node/317632
And please share the score, or indeed extract the mscx from the mscz (like using WinZIP or 7ZIP) and edit the mscx with a plain text editor (that's what I did in that other case)

I have a good night's sleep to thank you for today, this did the trick!
I extracted the .mscx with WinRaR and could use the Ctrl.+F search function in the Notepad app to weed out the odd time signatures indicated by the error display. Worked like a charm :D
Vielen lieben Dank und frohes musizieren!
