Strange stave spacing

This is a much edited piece of music which has suddenly created extra large spaces between two adjacent instruments and it is not reflected in Stave Properties, so cannot be corrected by me. Can you suggest how I can get back to normal? The gaps occur on the pages containing bars 168 and 176.
I'm using the latest download on W10 (64).
