Time signature duplication glitch

• Jan 11, 2019 - 22:07

Hi! I'm composing this piece of music on Musescore 3 where I have a lot of different time sigatures. But Musescore like got confused and duplicated my time signatures for example if I have a change from 3/4 to 2/4 then it writes the 2/4 twice, side by side. I can delete only on of them but that just makes the measure 3/4 again and it still shows one of those 2/4 that I can't delete. I tried deleting the measure but the same problem occured again. Please fix this bug!

I don't think this has been fixed which is quite annoying. I'm trying to write a symphony in 7/4 (notated as alternating 4/4 and 3/4), and the second 4/4 measure has this duplication in every separate part. I'm using the latest version: 3.6.1. Won't complain too hard though because I get to use this program for free lol. Still sad boi hours tho.

The bug that caused scores to get messed up in this way was fixed some time ago, but scores that had already gotten messed up aren't automatically corrected. To clean up an existing score that was previously infected, go to Format / Style / Page, turn off courtesy time signatures, save, close, reload, then go back and turn the option back on.

If that doesn't work, please attach your score so we can investigate.

Side remark, if you're writing 7/4 and do wish to explicitly write it as altering 4/4+3/4 measures, I wouldn't go and add those time signatures every other measure, but rather change the actual measure duration instead.

For example by starting from 4/4 (change text to 7/4) and then Ctrl+Del (Cmd-Del on Mac) the last beat of every other measure.
