Render to Video Score

• Mar 28, 2020 - 11:05

To get a video score you need to screen capture then mux and audio source with the video.
With Band In A Box they save the display (chords or notation screen) to an image every beat (at high speed so it's not like screen capture with playback at real time) then it will mux the audio.wav with all the still images to create a video.
If Musescore will do this and allow a choice of audio.wav

Upload ("File > Save online", possible along with custom soundfont) to musescore.com, there use "Send to YouTube", this currently doesn't really send to YouTube, but generates an MP4 that you can then download (and subsequently upload to YouTuber, if so desired)

"The video is being prepared for downloading. It may last from a few minutes to an hour. We will send a download link to the email address associated with your account."
The time it took to first process the upload then it has to be prepared, then an email link sent out...
I could of had 5 of them screen captured.
Integrated in Musescore it could do this offline in like a minute.
Too many hoops :(

I use a screen capture/recording software Capto (Mac), which inserts an inline audio recording module into the system. Launch Capto first. Then, launch MuseScore. Go to "MuseScore" menu -> "Preferences" -> "I/O". Under "Port Audio API: ", select "Core Audio", then under "Device" select "BoomAudio". This will loop audio output of MuseScore music video to Capto, while it is recording the video. Use "Record Area" in Capto. Thank for MuseScore providing this I/O capability.
