Hello, Musescore crashes every time I open it. Usually I have to reopen it 2-3 times, up to 5 and then it seems fairly stable.

OK, so Mac OS X 10.15.7 and MuseScore 3.6.2
Still steps to reproduce needed, including the score that is causing it

Not sure precisely how to offer more detail. But I click on Musescore in my sidebar. It initializes, tries to reopen last file, usually the one attached. But this has happened with every file. Let me know if you need more. thank you. .
That score opens just fine here. MuseScore 3.6.2, Windows 10
Have you tried reverting MuseScore to factoy settings?

I have not, but I will try. Is that just "reset all preferences to default" in preferences? I am using the Mac version if that matters.
No, that is only a part of it. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/revert-factory-settings
This closes frequently on me. I am almost done, ready to print score, then it crashes. I have, repaired, uninstalled, restarted. No success. We need a working solution.
Before a working solution we'd need steps to reproduce
Did you try the revert to factory settings, reinstall/repair won't do that

thank you. Yes, I did try reverting to factory settings. Seemed to work once but then still crashing on open.
To be clear - there is no way a crash just before print is related to a crash on open. In order to understand and diagnose the problem with crashing before print, we'd need you to ask for help on the Support forum and attaching the score and precise steps to reproduce the issue.
Regarding the crash on open being discussed here - if it continues to crash immediately after a revert to factory settings (and try that again even if you did it once before), the most likely explanation is a hardware / driver incompatibility. Please ask for help on the Support forum and include as many system details as you can. If it works immediately after the reset but crashes reliably at some point after, then it's probably a corrupt score in your history.
The reason it's important to ask for help on the Support forum is that there are probably 1000 times as many people available to assist, with a much wider range of system administration expertise.
