Moving vocal line to piano staff
I've been using MS since it was first required for all peasents by the court at Weimar but I STILL don't understand the subtle politics of "Exchanging Voices" and "Implode".
All I'm trying to do is move the VOCAL line (Voice 2) from the Vocal staff to the treble of the piano staff and then delete the vocal staff entirely. I THOUGHT it would be simple as Select > Same Voice and then Copy&Paste into the same measure, but that's not working. It doesn't have to look pretty, just enough for me to read through.
Thank you to one and all.
This is as far as I've gotten with my limited tutelage.

I would select the vocal line (voice2) by the selection filter (F6).

And once I have them selected, what's next?
Slightly different scenario but I've had very poor results trying to copy from one stave to another with existing notes using different voices. The "swap to voice 2" thing, I find that after doing this the ability to highlight the bar usually disappears, and I cannot paste. I've tried it a few times and always get stuck at the paste command, have to try several times for it to - randomly - work.

Please attach a score where you always get stuck; explaining the exact steps you take, up to the "stuck" paste command.

Probably you are forgetting to re-enable voice 1 in the selection filter before attempting the paste. With voice 1 filtered out, you can't select any empty measure or any measure that lacks content (not( in voice 1.
If that doesn't solve your problem, then as mentioned, please attach your score and give precise steps to reproduce the issue, so we can understand and assist better.

Ah that's exactly what I was forgetting, thanks Marc.

Indeed, with Voice 1 filtered, you can't select an empty measure or a measure with no content, but for some reason (I've noticed this for a while), the paste works by selecting not the measure itself, but the rest (whole rest) or other rest in such and such measure.
This doesn't save you from remembering to re-check voice 1 in the Selection Filter :)
Copy and paste does not work with "list" selections (which is what you just created - only range selections. So, select the range, then if you wish to copy only voice 2, use View / Selection Filter to exclude voice 1 from the selection before doing the copy. Then be sure to re-enable it before attempting the paste you may not be able to select a destination.
If you attach continue to have trouble, please your actual score instead of just a picture, so we can understand and assist better,
