Trying to add a bracket in the middle of stave
Hi,
I'm having trouble adding a bracket to the middle of a stave: it should cover a note in bass and treble clef. I've used 'square' symbol from the master palette which seems to match the bracket in the music i'm transcribing.
Musescore lets me place it at the start of the stave, and I have no idea how to move it to the middle. I've tried using edit element, dragging, pressing shift + direction, ctrl + shift etc....but so far nothing.
Thanks for any help.
Also - I noticed in one of the help sections for a similar topic someone showed a picture of a master palette search box. My master palette doesn't have a search box though. Was this feature removed?

Try using the square arpeggio symbol (and disable its playback)
And no, that search filead on the symbols palette of the master palette has not been removed:

Ok - I've dragged it so it covers both notes in bass and treble, but unfortunately when I hit save Musescore automatically resizes the blank space between bass and treble clef (making it MUCH wider) lol....

Don't drag - use Shift+Down. That extends it automatically,. and doesn't mess up the layout or create the more subtle problems with spacing that are caused if you disable automatic placement. And better yet, it updates automatically if the staff spacing changes.
