Global transpose button in player

• Sep 7, 2021 - 19:26

Hi all,

It would be handy to have a global 'transpose' gadget in the player, similar to the way one can adjust the global tempo, so that singers can easily play with the key to find where the songs sits best in their voice. It would help immensely with sharing songs with my band. Would other people find it useful?

The Mobile Apps (for iOS and Android) have that.
In the MuseScore Editor (for Windows, Mac and Linux) you'd need to use the transpose function

There are command to simply transpose a half step up/down. There is no default shortcut for it currently - used to be, but people complained because it's not something most people would want to do much and people kept hitting the command accidentally. But go to Edit / Preferences / Shortcuts and search for "transpose", you'll see commands for transpose up & down.

The mobile apps are not being dealt with here on musescore.org, but exclusively over on miusescore.com. But I can tell you already that in order for scores on the local device to play you'd need the Pro version, the non-Pro version only plays scores that are on musescore.com.

Uploading scores works either directly on musescore.com (and this isn't being dealt with here) or via the MuseScore Editor program (for Windows, Mac, Linux) and its File > Save online
