Musescore interprets "11" in a chord symbol to mean "9/11" rather than "11"
So I'm having a problem in the latest version of MuseScore.
I'm trying to get a C Minor 11th chord to play using chord symbols, but instead of playing an 11th chord, it plays a 9/11 chord? So currently, as it is, it interprets the "11" part in "Cm11" as "Cm9/11"
I've noticed that this is a constant thing, so whenever you want to use any type of 11th chord in a chord symbol, it interprets it as a 9/11 chord, rather than y'know, an actual 11th chord?
Kinda annoying since 11th chords are decently common in music, so I don't get why this is happening.
Reproduction steps:
- Select a start note or a slash
- Press Ctrl+K
- Write down an 11th chord
- Listen back to it or realize the chord symbol
Expected behaviour: It'll treat it and play as an 11th chord
Actual behaviour: It plays back a 9/11 chord
MuseScore version: r 3224f34
Comments
11 means normal tritone plus 7th, 9th and 11th.
3224f34 is not a MuseScore version.
3224f34 is the Git SHA for 3.6.2
To be clear: standard chord symbol terminilogy is to take the first number in a chord symbol as an indication to stack thirds that high. So, Cm7 is 1-b3-5-b7, Cm9 is 1-b3-5-b7-9, C11 is 1-b3-5-7-9-11. That is how human musicians would interpret it, so that's how MuseScore interprets it as well. If you wish to specify no 9, you can write Cm11(no9), or probably better, Cm(add11).

The latter would be without the 7th too, wouldn't it?
