I don't know how to recreate it but anytime I click a note, it doesn't me to move it correctly or place other notes, because it says it's in the "Playing Phase"

I'm guessing also you acciudentally double-clicked, which pouts you in "edit mode" - a way to make small adjustments to the position of the notehead but not something you'd normally ever need to do. Look at the lower right of the status bar, and if you see Edit Mode, just hit Esc as mentioned.

If you continue to have problems even after ensuring you are not in edit mode, tell us in more detail what you are trying to do "how you are trying to "move" the note, how you are trying to add one), and what exactly goes wrong when you try. And also attach the score you are having trouble with and tell us which note you clicked when the problem occurred.
