Notate chord symbols

Is it possible to get musescore to print the actual notes the chord symbols play? I know I could save it as a midi file and re-import it, but wondering if there is an easier way.

I meant to say, for example, in a lead sheet, the melody is embedded into the chords when you realize the chord symbols, but I tried it again just now, and the melody was not there, so that is handy. I definitely want to get everything separate before importing to a DAW. I guess the thing to do would be to make 2 more staves: one for just chord realizations and one for melody.
Thank you.

Yes, that would be a good idea if I am understanding your goal. Normally one doesn't bother with this command since MuseScore does the playback itself. And when one does use this command, it's usually not for a lead sheet, but for a piano or guitar staff in an arrangement, to populate that part with reasonable voicings to use as a starting place for further editing. In such cases, there wouldn't be any melody on that staff.

If you don't need to actually change the notes rendered by chord symbol playback, then there's likely no need at all to realize them in the first place.

While chord symbol playback is indeed rendered on the same track as the melody in a lead sheet score, it is using a different channel; pretty much any DAW out there should be able to handle that flawlessly.
