How to make a part exit on musescore without implying that to the hide empty staff thing.

A symphony written by Franz Joseph Haydn in F sharp minor has this cool feature where some instruments in an orchestra leave. While the hiding empty staff part is simple, I want to do that feature on musescore without implying it to the hide empty staff part. How do I do it?

Do you mean that they don't show in the score? Not every instrument plays in every movement. Union rules wouldn't allow them to just leave. JK.

It's not clear what you mean here, but if you hiding empty staves in the score, it affects the score only, not the part.

If you continue to have trouble, please attach your score and describe what you are trying to do in more detail.

This is Haydn’s “Farewell” symphony (no. 45). The poor musicians didn’t have a union in those days so Haydn had them gradually leave in the last movement until there were only two violins left for the final few bars. Their employer took the hint and let them go back to their families.

The instruction “Si parte” is added to the parts at various points, telling them when to leave. IMSLP will show what it looks like. Are you trying to reproduce the effect in playback?
