file corruption - continues and infects
I don't have any good debug sequence info for you. I worked for several days on a composition, and luckily exported the parts just before it died. Today I was working with it, then I saved a copy of it, closed it and worked on another file, and then I tried to open the file again and got a "Open Error, file ... is corrupted" message. No explanation or any other indication anything was wrong while using it. Pretty upsetting.
The .mscz file was in a dropbox folder, how I have worked for years with Musescore. The copy had most of the data, so only a loss of 30min of work, so I'm not angry. MacOS 11.6.7 Big Sur. Musescore 4.0.0. I used the 4.0 beta version for months, and never had this problem.
I have included the file so you can see what broke.

I installed 4.0.1 having seen the corruption issue was addressed. I had a previous version of my score with missing work I though I had lost (uncorrupted). On the "corrupt" file, I was able to dismiss the corruption dialog and salvage my work from before. Then upon reopening the new file, I get the corruption message again. I can click "ignore" and keep working, but is my work going to ultimately stop opening and be lost? Do I have to rewrite all these hours of work?
The corruptions fixes in 4.0.1 won't cure existing corruptions, just preventing them form happening now.
You'd need to fix these corruptions, see How to fix MuseScore 4 corrupted files

There is no information in the error message, so there is no place for me to look and nothing for me to fix myself . That is why I sent the file, since I have no idea what is wrong.
Have you read the howto?

Issue is resolved in my file. I failed to notice the link you provided on how to fix. Thanks.
