Parts vs Master Score
I have entered slurs throughout all the parts (except piano). The slurs I entered in the parts do not appear in the master score. My understanding was that anything changed in the parts would appear in the master score. But apparently not.

I think it is always safer to work in the score. Not the parts.

Maybe so, though the Handbook says
Parts and score are "linked", which means that any change to the content in one will affect the other, but changes to the layout will not.
The clear implication is that (non-layout) changes in a part are supposed to appear in the score.

Maybe so. But as you have found out, there are some things that don't work yet. You might check on GitHub to see if this has been reported. I think it has, though.

I'm not aware of using GitHub in this connection. Could you tell me how that's done? I thought all problems with MuseScore had to be posted here, in this Forum. I get many errors, all the time.

This forum is how you get support - if you have a question about how to do something, or are encountering something you thinking might be a bug but you need confirmation or help nailing down precise steps to reproduce the problem. once something is confirmed to be a bug, and you have a score and precise steps to reproduce the problem, then GitHub is where you report the bug to the developers.
So, if you can give precise steps to reproduce the problem, we can try to confirm, and if so, direct you =on how to then open an issue on GitHub.
BTW, there were bugs in some older versions where things could become corrupt in ways where links wouldn't work properly. We'd really need steps to reproduce the problem in 4.0.2, starting from a score not already messed up.
