Showing label for two parts on one staff
I have an older piece of music with three staves in 2,systems. The top stave is labeled Soprano /Alto. The bottom staves are tenor and bass. The total length of the excerpt is 23 measures with an anacrusis. How do I label the top two parts so that they look the same as the original

You just need to use a "Soprano" part to hold both Soprano and Alto.
It's easy to change the Long instrument name and the Short instrument name from Soprano to:
Soprano
Alto
and:
S.
A.
Then select all measures for the Soprano voice and use Tools > Voices > Exchange Voice 1-2 to create a separate vocal line for the Alto part:

Or better a Women part. It has a different range (upper like soprano, lower like alto)
