I cant open some of my scores
When I try to open some of the scores I've been working on it says "This file could not be opened. Please make sure that musescore studio has permission to open it"
How do I do that? And they're a scores that I wrote and have saved so why does musescore all of a sudden need permission

Name the Musescore version.
Name your operating system.
Where have you saved the scores, locally or in the cloud?

Musescore 4.3. its the newest update. it seems like its only happening with the scores that i saved to my computer. the ones in the cloud are still opening. learned my lesson i guess. but is there a way to open them

Don't be too quick drawing conclusions here, usually files saved locally should give less issues than cloud, -not- the other way around.
Can you post a screen capture of the error you get when you open the file from the file itself, and another one for the error message you get when you try from MuseScore studio ?
Sounds like an issue with cloud saving, and then trying to open scores from the cloud while not signed in. Signing in should give MuseScore the permission to open the files.

Are you trying to open them from the MS app or from the file folder they are saved in?
What's your operating system? Windows, Mac or linux.

Have you recently changed your username?
Does the line with your username contain the "Read and write" privilege?
Was MuseScore installed by a user with a different username?
Like I said, I don't know Mac OS, so I can only guess.

Are the scores your trying to open original scores that you saved from MS or are they scores you downloaded from MS website? If they were downloaded than a copy should still be in the macs download folder. To see where MS folders are on the mac follow this path. From the MS app drop down the MUSESCORE STUDIO menu.
Click on preferences. than folders
The path to the scores is at the top. You can click on the folder icon and it will open. You won't be able to open them from there, but you will know where they are. Then use finder to go to the file location
Try making a new score and saving it than reopening it.
I'll only be able to check back occasionally for the rest of the day. But I suspect it's a problem with the path to the scores.

Hi, I had the same issue as you and I managed to find out how to fix it. Open the finder than do the following:
click on the app icon and then "get info". Then, a list should appear. At the bottom of the list, there should be a lock symbol 🔒, click on it. It should open and you will be able to open and edit your scores again.
