MusicXML export changes octave on linked notation and tablature

Hi everyone, I'm just getting started with Musescore, so apologies if this is just a setting or something I'm missing.

I've set up a bass line with linked tabs (Fallen_Leaves_Bass.mscz) that I now want to export as a musicXML to use in other programs/apps.

But even just importing the xml (Fallen_Leaves_Bass.musicxml) back into MuseScore, the tabs are already broken, as they get imported a whole octave lower.

Has anyone experienced similar behaviour or maybe even knows how to fix this?
