Recurring problem of audio playback acting strange with Focusrite 18i20 interface audio
Hello,
I recently made a post about this issue a few weeks ago here: https://musescore.org/en/comment/1249945
Thanks to the help of a forum member, the issue seemed to be fixed, but it seems to have come back and reared its head for seemingly no reason.
I am on Windows 11 with Musescore 4.3.2
Focusrite 18i20 audio interface
The problem is that when my Focusrite USB Audio audio output is selected for musescore, the playback audio and speed is incredibly fast and high pitched. This was originally fixed by turning off exclusive mode and lowering the bitrate in windows audio settings to 16bit (as opposed to the other option, 24bit) and maxing out Musescore's buffer size to 4096. The problem has been gone for weeks, and the other day, without manually changing any settings, the problem is back. It is a bit frustrating to be honest, but the audio is normal if I plug my headphones into my computer's regular headphone output.
This is not related to one project file, but to all of Musescore.
This is a video I attached in my original post showing the problem:

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

I get this problem too (with Sound BlasterX AE-5). There are many posts on this issue, but apparently no solutions yet.
So, do you need the Scarlett? Mine doesn't help MU4 audio since MU4 Studio came out. I tend to use it for easy volume control.

For audio quality purposes, no, I do not need the Scarlett. I can edit scores just fine with my computer's headphone output. I prefer to write with my piano coming in through my interface though, so I prefer to have all of my audio go through the Scarlett.

Could you need a driver update?
Also, the headphone on a laptop is a 3way. L+R out and Mic in. with a splitter you can use both at the same time.
