Voice overlap and separation

• Aug 15, 2024 - 14:00

EDIT: BOTH RESOLVED - many thanks
Vocalise - Rachmaninov
Two things I need help with!
1/. I've been trying to get separation of three voice input where the beams and stems of different value notes overlap. Usually the voices stems and beams automatically adjust when typed in ...but not in this instance. Ive tried changing the direction of the stems from vertically up to vertically down but no joy - it seems the horizontal spacing that needs adjusting (the areas highlighted in pink on the image) .
2/. Adjusting the visibility of tranparency of hidden notes to be greyed out rather than completely gone when I toggle the visibility box in Appearance (on previous scores when I make things non-visible the notes are greyed out - I must have done something to settings such that when I toggle the visibility box the notes completely disappear. So I think what Im asking is how to adjust the properties / appearance of non-visible notes?
Thanks in advance - the knowledge and help here is always so impressive!
EDIT I simply toggled View>ShowInvisible Screenshot 2024-08-15 at 5.45.51 AM.png

It might be useful to know: what is the source of this file? I could be wrong, just an hypothesis, but it could look like the import of a MIDI file?
Or are you entering the score yourself with Musescore from a score seen on, say, the IMSLP site? In this case, it would be nice to provide the link.

It is possible. See here:
MuseScore 3 Evolution_ Untitled_.png

1) The rests of voices 2 ... 4 can be deleted.
2) With "x" you can change the stem direction.
3) With 1.5sp on the chord x-position you can shift the sixteenth notes a little to the right

(I did it with Musescore 3.7)
