Changing the pitch of a single note on the staff

• Aug 24, 2024 - 02:18

I found that solo Violin I and solo Violin II sometimes play single notes out of tune. I mean, in general, all the notes are at the right pitch, but some individual notes here and there are a bit off, resulting in a rather disturbing sound during playback. Is there any way to adjust the pitch of single notes?

I found it somewhat vexing to verify this in MuseScore 4. During playback I'd hear an out of tune note. But when I'd click it the pitch would be true. So I'd begin to doubt myself, thinking it was a neighboring note that was pitch problematic.

Does this happen for you?

There was a recent post on this point. If I find it I'll post a link.

I believe MuseScore 4 has made considerable strides on many fronts. And while MuseSounds produces some very exciting playback results ...presently it's many "not ready for prime-time" deficiencies mar MuseScore's overall reputation. Hopefully that will improve soon and we'll find better harmony between MuseScore and MuseSounds going forward.

- Yes, it does. Especially on solo string instruments, but has never happened on sections (like violin sections, viola sections, etc.). I am pretty sure it's a specific note being out of tune and not the neighboring-notes influence because the same score sounded just fine in MS3.
