But for the time being, it's first a very good deal for Dorico... Just think: you can have the Dorico Pro 5 version for 149USD, instead of 579USD. This is an extraordinary and unique opportunity.
I myself have an older version of Finale (2012), when I was looking for a music notation software that suited my needs (it turned out to be MuseScore...), I'm entitled to this offer, 179USD with Sales Tax. I'm wondering...
Even if Musescore will remain my favorite software, I'd be tempted to try it out, mainly out of curiosity and to be able to evaluate the difference in approach between the two programs.

I’ll probably pick up Dorico at that price. But I also want to evaluate their SE version.
I do a lot with the Barbershop Harmony Society. I need to see about adapting our notation manual to a new program. But beyond that, I need to see if we can share custom templates with our membership, including font selection and some custom expressions and articulations. I’ve been told (by Jojo-Schmitz) that custom palettes won’t be shared with templates. This is pretty much a show-stopper for me, as it would require any new users to create their own, which would not be a task to drop on them. The only way around it that I can see would be to create a doc with every custom feature I use, and instruct on how to get them into their own MSS barbershop template.
If MuseScore could offer a better way to accomplish this, I would whole-heartedly jump on, and promote, it.
