A language bug in the latest MuseScore version

• Sep 18, 2024 - 18:49

Hi, I downloaded the latest version 4.4.2, in Hebrew. The problem is that parts of the software is in Arabic, like the names of the instruments, the tool boards, and more... some are in Hebrew and when I press them they change to Arab. Did anyone face this bug? Does anyone have a solution?

Arabic is written almost always in cursive (joined-up) writing, while Hebrew letters are block letters and never join up together. In @ybp 's example, in the top tab-strip, the left item (that is selected) is in Arabic, while the right item is in Hebrew.
I've marked some examples of the different languages' usages in the attached picture.

I confirm this.
Interestingly, the problem does not occur in software mode (set QT_QUICK_BACKEND=software)
but appears in opengl and d3d11 mode

After a while, I also encountered this, and I found that the problem was simply with the font that opens by default. Just go into the display, change the font, and it will work.
