You will need to use two voices. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/working-multiple-voices

Or gracenotes?

Thank you. When I tried gracenotes the note was too small. So, I reverted to using Voice 2 but had to learn how to move the note horizontally. Got it to work exactly the way I wanted.
I am not a musician and cannot even a tune. Despite all that, I am creating a supplemental hymnal for our church, which is quite a learning experience.

The notes in your image are small...

My excerpt wasn't the best. I tried the gracenote option before going with the second voice option but found that the graceneote was small relative to the others. I tried to find a way to make it the same size but was not successful. Maybe I needed to try harder. The learning curve is steep.
I appreciate you taking the time to assist me. Thank you.

I managed to get your "Solution" to work. I was transcribing a piece of music that is on 8-in X 11-in paper to fit onto a 6-in X 9-in page. To accomplish the aim many adjustments were required.
Thank you so much for responding.

Another time try the Scaling function - it should be much quicker: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/score-size-and-spacing#page-setting
If necessary you can also adjust the horizontal spacing with { or }
