Lost files during the latest update
I was just beginning a new score and as I was opening a different score, I was prompted to update to the newest version 4.4.3. I initiated this update but did not save my new score before the update. Then I saved it. When I went to open it again, it tells me I saved it in an older version (3.6.2) and then when I open it the whole thing is blank. Is there anywhere I can recover my work? When I look in the Musescore 3 for the score, it does not show up. When I try to open the score in v. 4.4.3, it tells me I saved it in the older version, but when I click ok, it still shows up blank. The file I am hoping to recover is called : New Beginnings HB.mscz , last viewed in it's entirety on Sunday, Nov. 3.

This file looks like a perfectly valid empty Musescore file saved in version 3.6.2.
You either didn't save your changes or saved them somewhere else.
For version 3, try this tutorial

Thanks, but this was absolutely not an empty score saved. I saved a composition that I had put quite a lot of work into and it just vanished. I cannot locate the saved file that contains my work anywhere. This is the only version that shows up and it was not blank. I can assure you.

It's possible there is an older version in your v3 backup folder. That is a hidden folder in the main Scores folder. What OS you have determines how you make hidden folders visible.
