I am new to Musescore. My teacher suggested that I get the Musescore app for my android, but had a hard time getting the tools to slide or move. It had a "Precount". It looks like in the PC v3.6 it is called "Count-in". And it was removed in v4, if I am correct. With the limited space, I have a table/laptop at one end of the digital piano, and I really don't want to get a ipad OS 15 (required by the Musescore app). With the laptop, by the time I select play, and I get my hands back in position, Musescopre is already a measure passed of where I want to start (I am 66, been taking lessons for 7 months, made big improvements compared to trying to learn on my own for 2-3 years). I would like to see the "Count-in" / "Precount" added to version 4, but also be able to place the "count-in" anywhere in the score, so you can practice that in section. Take care.
That's not a very good solution as it would make a printed score look very strange having an entire orchestra start with one or 2 empty measures. It's annoying to have to add that at the beginning just so you can play along. It astounds me that previous versions had it, but the "new and improved" versions eliminated it.
Of course not for the printed version, but when using MuseScore and it's playback it'd be easy to prepend 2 measures (and not save it). But indeed that'd not a fix, just a workround, for one of many features that got lost with Mu4

Tantacrul has recently answered in another thread (the one about Finale support):
Agreed, count-in must come back asap
So there is hope :-)

What a nuisance that is. Why can't they just bring back count-in?

Good question! Same goes for the multiple other featured that got lost...
