Page number on first page
I'm in the process of transferring some files from v3 to v4.
I have a file which is the second movement of a set. I'd like the score to begin with page 7, and that number to appear on the first page of the score. I have set Page settings>>First page number.>>7, and ticked Style>>Header & footer>>Show on first page. (The page numbers are, by choice, in the footer, centered.) Pages 8-10 display correctly, as does the score when opened in v3. What am I missing?

Nothing, that number is in the 1st page, in 3.6.2
And it is there even when opening the score in 4.4.3
Which version are you using?

Setting in thge Mu3 score:
and in the Mu4 score:
a) uppercase P vs. lowercase p
b) odd/even pages different vs. not
So you're comparing apples to oranges

Yes indeedy, It was simply changing the lowercase "p" to uppercase "P". Although how that got changed copying the v3 file to v4 remains a mystery.
In general, I find MuseScore's handling of headers and footers one of it's most counterintuitive aspects.

What do youz mean by copying the v3 file to v4?
Simply opening the Mu3 score in Mu4 (and saveing under a different name) would certainly retain the uppercase P, but in a new score the lower case p is the default, even if you copy/paste the notes across
