I can;t open or remove Musehub
I opened Musehub, and it started downloading Muse strings, though it appeared frozen. Then I was informed that I needed to download Muse Hub. Nothing was happening so I closed it. Now it won't open. On the start page, there is a white line with Musehub, which I assume means that it didn't finish downloading. Now I can no longer open, download, or delete Musehub, and I have lost Muse strings, which I previously had.

Exactly the same problem was reported this morning on the French-speaking forum: https://musescore.org/fr/node/371724
And I was able to confirm this by trying, in vain, to delete Muse Hub (running Windows 10, like the first user to report this issue)
No explanation or understanding of what's going on yet.

If you paid anything for MuseHub or MuseScore Studio then you paid too much. Both are completely free.

I paid via muse hub for 200€ of third party sounds that I can no longer use because of this major Issue.
I am 60 years old and I know what i am saying about.

I have no idea what your age has to do with the issue but I expect that MuseScore will get it fixed soon. Good to hear that you weren't charged for MuseHub or MuseScore Studio.

It's because there's a weird thing with the app. I found this out the hard way. When I tried to buy orchestral plugins, it told me I had to "login" and it took me to a url that "can't establish a secure connection" to my server (using Mac Pro Desktop). My dad looked up stuff about MuseHub, and it's really shady. It's been alleged as to being malware or had malware-like behaviors; it's frequently the source of inbound connection attempts from various IP's, and runs root-owned background services.

I thought the "root-owned background services" were eliminated in the new MuseHub.

That is correct, same with the P2P traffic (which would appear as lots of external connections)
The exact same thing happened to me. MuseHub is now bricked. Can't complete the update, run, uninstall, or reinstall.

Hi! This appears to be an error caused by a recent Windows 10 update from what I can determine.
Can you send me an email at dominic@musehub.com and I'll try help manually fix this with some Microsoft workarounds.
Hi, are you running Windows 10 or Windows 11?
In reply to Hi, are you running Windows… by dominic_musehub
I'm not convinced this Microsoft workaround will work in our case since MuseHub self-contains the WinAppSDK, but could be worth a try!

@dominic_musehub: this fix (InstallerX64) works for me (Windows10), right from the first attempt: https://github.com/microsoft/WindowsAppSDK/issues/4881#issuecomment-248…
I was able to remove and reinstall MuseHub completely normally.

Good to hear!
For any others experiencing this issue, try running this installer until it succeeds (see the above link for more information).
