Generate parts and print it out. The one page with the multimeasure rests has "Piano" on it, so it is an excerpt!
I think you made the other instruments in your score invisible instead of generating the excerpts. This is why the multimeasure rests are not there.

I did indeed make the other parts invisible, but I printed them both the same way, just different versions of Musescore - via export PDF.
What do you mean by "generate" parts?
Perhaps you can tell me how to change a vocal instrument to sound as piano rather than ahhs
Thanks in advance

I don't have Musescore 4, so I don't have the exact command to get them. In Musescore 3 you can do it via File -> Parts. These are the individual sheets for the instruments.
To change the vocal instrument, just right click -> Staff/Part Properties and select piano as the instrument.

Also, when I deleted all but the tenor line ... the results were the same ... all measures show up.

But then the multimeasure rest must be possible. "M" or "Ctrl+Shift+M", depending on the version ...

yes, that works ... but the point is ... it was automatically done in previous versions without any additional manipulations, so would seem to be a option somewhere and if so, where?

If you use the parts and not the score, it is still automatically.
