mutilple measure rests for on instrument not combining into single bar notation in PDF

I use to get notation like 10 measures of rests ... now I get all ten measures printing. How to get older notation version

Generate parts and print it out. The one page with the multimeasure rests has "Piano" on it, so it is an excerpt!

I think you made the other instruments in your score invisible instead of generating the excerpts. This is why the multimeasure rests are not there.

I did indeed make the other parts invisible, but I printed them both the same way, just different versions of Musescore - via export PDF.

What do you mean by "generate" parts?

Perhaps you can tell me how to change a vocal instrument to sound as piano rather than ahhs

I don't have Musescore 4, so I don't have the exact command to get them. In Musescore 3 you can do it via File -> Parts. These are the individual sheets for the instruments.

To change the vocal instrument, just right click -> Staff/Part Properties and select piano as the instrument.
