Playback stops after seconda volta
I am trying to have a section of the piece repeat 3 times with a different ending the 4th time and whatever I do playback stops after the second time. I thought it might be a problem with the repeat list format but I can't work out what I've done wrong. I've written "1, 2, 3" in the closed volta and "4" in the open volta.
Any help would be much appreciated :-]

Have you also adjusted the “Play Count” in the properties of the measure?

That worked getting the first 3 repeats to all play but it still stops before the 4th repeat and there isn't an option to change the playcount of that measure
Normally the first volta covers only the end of the section that you want missed on the last playback, not the whole section. If you really mean to play the whole section three times then set the Play count of the measure before the end-repeat barline to 3 and don't use voltas.
If, however, you want something like this, then you need to set the Play count to 4 and place the voltas differently:

I hadn't realised playcount meant across all repeats not just the selected bar, thanks! Your image is what I was going for first but I for some reason decided it would make more sense to repeat the whole section instead of dealing with getting ties to work across repeats. How did you get it to work in this? Whenever I try it it links the tie from repeats 1-3 and in 4 so I can only hide both, not just the first one

Ah, in this case the tie does come from the earlier notes but it isn't made invisible; instead, I manually shrunk and moved the left side of the tie and hid it behind the repeat barline.
