MuseScore has suddenly started running extremely slowly on my computer!!!

I have the latest version (4.4.4), but for the past few weeks, the program has been freezing regularly after a short time. Simple commands like saving, transposing, or changing style settings can take several minutes. I haven't changed any of the default settings and don't know what might be causing this. Maybe you can help me.
