8vb in the wrong direction

• Apr 1, 2009 - 12:27

Hi,
The 8va bassa in the palette is provided with a hook in the wrong direction; I think this sign is always below the note, and the hook should be upward (see my screen capture).
Maybe there is a way to change the direction of the hook?

By the way, in my version, if I change the stem directions in the layers section, it doesn't remain after I click on OK. The same with Apply, then OK then come back to the window in question. (see capture)

I wouldn't recommend changing the stem directions for the voices (layers). Just use the voice that has the stem direction you need.

You are correct that the direction of the hook is the wrong way on the 8vb. It doesn't look like you can change it in the current prerelease. I think you could change it in the 0.9.3 version but I haven't checked.

Hi thanks for your answer; actually I meant that the default, when I open the menu, is "all layers stems up", as on the picture, and it wasn't like that in previous pre-releases, and it can't be changed to have for example 1 up, 2 down, 3 up, 4 down.

It happens with any score I create or open; when I open the menu style-voices, everything is on "up", and if I change something, it doesn't remain.
My score has been created by a previous pre-release version of MS, I unfortunately don't remember which.
I attach it to this post.

Hooks direction in 8vb and 15mb is now up by default. Hook direction can also be edited in the line properties dialog.
Editing of stem direction style properties is fixed. (rev 1707).
