Changing from Piano to a Drumkit would involve a channel change, which, whilst it would be accepted by MIDI flouts most of the MIDI programming conventions I know as changing channel midstream can cause all sorts of debugging headaches later on in the process.
In case you don't know - all non-pitched percussion sounds are held on Channel 10 in (General) MIDI - it is physically impossible to use Program Change to change to a pitched instrument on that channel without using SysEx commands to change the synth parameters (even if it allows that).
I would assume therefore that MuseScore would prohibit such a change??
