Making right notes not be put in left hand measure

• Jul 18, 2016 - 20:23

So I'm working on transcribing sheet music from my piano book into Musescore, and I've run into a rather annoying problem. The right hand is supposed to play C, G, and E from the third octave to the fourth, and Musescore is automatically placing the third octave notes into the left hand, when I need it in the right hand. Help me..? IMG_0408 is what need to happen, Screenshot_1 is what I don't need but Musescore does.

[Edited reply] IsaacWeiss figured out what your problem was; I had misunderstood it somewhat. But in any event, keyboard entry is much more efficient in 99% of cases than mouse entry. You cannot shift from one staff to the other without first exiting note-entry mode and then clicking on the other staff prior to going back into note-entry mode. But once the cursor is placed on one specific staff, notes entered using the keyboard are entered on that staff and only on that staff. They do not automatically migrate to the other, no matter what octave they are in. So the best thing for you is to enter all the notes on one staff, exit Note-Entry mode by typing N, and then go back and do the other staff.
